Woodhouse Clothing Denim Guide*

Wednesday, 5 November 2014

Woodhouse Clothing has recently released their very own tribute to denim, in the form of an incredibly comprehensive denim guide. This guide has all the need-to-know denim facts on one incredibly slick page, including everything from a glossary of terms, to the dos and don'ts of buying your new pair of jeans. In partnership with Woodhouse Clothing, I have been lucky enough to add a beautiful pair of Nudie Jeans Co. Thin Finn Dry Organic jeans to my wardrobe to put into a post about them. So here they are...

I have decided to put this post together with photos taken by my brother (Richard Nixon) around Winchester when my family came down for the weekend, instead of the typical style outfit type pictures. This is for two reasons, the first being that I'm pretty sure you know what jeans look like by now, and simply showing you jeans isn't that beneficial for either of us. The other reason is that these are raw denim, meaning that these are jeans that are meant to be lived in and so pictures of me actually living in them makes far more sense.

As I have mentioned, the jeans I am wearing are the Thin Finn Dry Organic from Nudie Jeans Co, which come in at the amazing price of £89. Raw jeans are an investment purchase without a doubt, they mould to you over time and if/when they rip, you repair them instead of throwing them out. With this is mind and the fact that Nudie jeans offer both a free repair kit and free in-store repairs, £89 is an absolute bargain. They really are amazing quality; I've never had a pair of jeans this good. I will definitely be sticking to Nudie Jeans from now on.

Buying jeans (and trousers in general) online is something that has always been a struggle for me. Sizes differ greatly between brands and you can never truly know if you have interpreted the name of the fit correctly. With previous experience in buying some awful and ill-fitting denim online before, I was truly terrified about the prospect of going through this again. This is where the Woodhouse Clothing Denim Guide shows its true genius. Before deciding on this pair, I read through the denim guide so thoroughly that I could easily choose the perfect pair of jeans without trying them on, but still with complete confidence (The Dos and Don'ts section helped in particular). I would call that a bloody good move from a predominantly online retailer.

Cheers guys,
O&U.

  1. Really great images man, credit to your brother. Shows off the jeans really well. I've never got on with Nudie to be honest, I did have a pair for a bit but they were too low on the bum and sagged big time. I'm a Levi's guy.

    1. Cheers, I'll let him know. I want a nice pair of Levi's but I struggle with their fits. These are doing really well for me at the moment, we will see how they last.
