Racing Green*

Monday, 20 October 2014

Receiving an email from Debenhams saying that they love my blog was a bit of a big deal for me, as it would be for anyone. I've grown up knowing this giant of a department store and it's no surprise to say that a quick text was sent to my mum. Naturally, the email wasn't sent only to say that, but to introduce me to the Autumn/Winter collection from Racing Green and see if I'd be interested in styling a product from them. Considering that the colour 'Racing Green' is one of the most quintessentially British things, I'd gladly work with a brand named after that.

I chose to go for the Whitby Multi Check Shirt, which is 100% cotton poplin, and I have to say that the quality is fantastic. For a shirt that is normally £38, I find myself impressed and I can only assume that the rest of their collection is of equal quality. After all, if you make the decision to associate your brand with British racing heritage, a certain standard is necessary.

Along with the shirt came a lookbook reminiscent of a broadsheet newspaper. With the current decline in print, I found myself loving the take on something that is as British as tea and scones. Take a look at the Autumn/Winter 2014 lookbook here.

What I'd recommend is for you to take a look at Racing Green. This is a great brand, proud of British heritage and full of quality. Being honest, I wouldn't normally shop in Debenhams as I don't feel like they have a huge amount to offer me, but you may find me in there more often if Racing Green keeps it up.

Cheers guys,
O&U.
